Each class has a timetabled library session each week where students can borrow and return books from our well resourced library. At the beginning of 2020 the school library was refurbished. The space is now light and airy, with a large range of books on display for both students and teachers. The space is set up so that classes or meetings can be held there.
Book Club
NEPS uses the services of Scholastic and offers the students the chance to purchase books at very reasonable prices. There are 9 issues per year and there are four different groups to cater for all students from Prep to Year 6.
National Simultaneous Storytime
Each year, NEPS participates in the National Simultaneous Storytime, the same picture story book is read to students at the same time right around Australia. It’s always a fun book, and the students really enjoy this event. In 2013 the book was ‘The Wrong Book’ by Nick Bland.
Book Fair
The Book Fair is run once a year. Scholastic send a selection of books to the school and these can be purchased by the students throughout the week. A commission is earned by the school which is used to purchase more books for the library.
