Respect at NEPS is embedded across all areas in the form of our Respect values. They form part of classroom and yard expectations and are underpinned by 4 key themes:
- Respect for Self > resilient, positive, responsible, motivated, confident
- Respect for Learning> organised, engaged, curious, creative
- Respect for Others > encouraging, cooperative, considerate, inclusive, understanding
- Respect for Community> safe, courteous, thoughtful, involved
The school mascot, Respectful Roo encourages students to demonstrate behaviours inline with the Respect values. Respectful Roo tickets are earned for both classroom and yard behaviours with a draw conducted at weekly assemblies. Also at assemblies, students are recognised for demonstrating these behaviours via student of the week awards.
